My studio is equipped in professional, top class lighting and photo equipment, including Bowens lighting and Nikon cameras. The premises of the studio are cosy and suitable to fulfil needs of the families with small children and future moms.
Studio is located on the 1st floor of the building at Okrzei 8, in the Praga Port area of Warsaw.
THE STORY BEHIND THE STUDIO NAME AND LOGO
When I was setting up the studio, friends who had adopted a Thai girl sent me a letter with her drawing of an elephant. I had grown close to Tayanee while spending several months working at a children’s home in Thailand. I hoped that she was happy in her new family, and her drawing seemed to confirm it. Tayanee agreed that her colourful elephant could become my studio logo. The name also needed a connection to the elephant, a symbol of Thailand: elefantti is Finnish for elephant. Emilka, now an adult but then just beginning school, wrote the name in the beautiful handwriting used in the logo.
Accordion Content
The studio has plenty of clothing for expectant mothers: mini, midi and maxi dresses, skirts, scarves, wraps, maternity belts and shirts. Please bring dark underwear as well as white or nude underwear to wear under lighter fabrics; lace is a good option if you would like it to show. You are also welcome to bring your own outfits, particularly for the dad-to-be. Even if we do not use everything, it is good to have a choice. Jeans with a white or light-coloured top always work well, as does a man’s white shirt, including for the mum-to-be. Pastel colours are a good choice, and a plain black T-shirt is useful too. Avoid printed slogans or graphics, although stripes and dots photograph well.
Please tell me what sort of photographs you would like when you arrive, so that we can create images you will love. You might prefer black and white, a particular background colour or a partly blurred silhouette. Think about whether you like light or black backgrounds, intimate and atmospheric photographs, or a more cheerful mood.
Please bring clean indoor shoes or be prepared to walk barefoot or in socks, as we will be using a white paper backdrop.
Studio policy: please do not take photographs with your own camera during the session.
You are welcome to copy your photographs for personal use, print them in any format and share them on social media.
Please arrive at the agreed time. Arriving half an hour early may mean that I cannot take a break after the previous session, or that the studio is still closed.
After approximately 2-3 weeks, the photographs I have selected will be professionally edited and placed in your password-protected online gallery. Around 90% of the original shots are discarded because of closed eyes, unflattering expressions and similar issues. You will receive your login and password by email. Depending on your package, there will be around 25-70 photographs to choose from.
Your photographs will then be sent to your chosen address as high-resolution JPG files on electronic storage and high-quality 15 x 21 cm prints in a decorative box.
Please pay by bank transfer after the session, using the account number in your session confirmation email.
You can reschedule your session. Please let me know at least the day before, where possible. I encourage you to choose another date if anyone is unwell, for example with a cold.
Please bring a few changes of clothes for yourselves and your children. Even if we do not use them all, it helps to have options. A mixture of pastel and brighter colours gives the photographs variety. Jeans with white or light-coloured tops work well for parents and children alike. Avoid large graphics and slogans; stripes, dots, flowers and checks are better choices. A tie or bow tie, a scarf, a decorative hair clip or a flower can make lovely accessories. Hats and headscarves are welcome too. The studio also has plenty of accessories, including hats, ties and tutu skirts. Please bring plain white T-shirts or bodysuits to go with these.
If your child has a favourite toy or their own idea for a photograph, I will happily include it. What matters is that they feel comfortable and are not forced to take part. We can even pretend that we are photographing their cuddly toy! The session is a game involving the photographer and parents. Instead of insisting on particular poses, we aim to capture genuine smiles and emotions. Scolding usually has the opposite effect, so together we help your child forget the camera by trying on hats, catching a ball and playing.
We usually photograph the whole family as well as the children, so please consider your own outfits too. Bring at least one coordinated look for everyone, such as jeans and white tops or complementary muted colours. Tell me what you would like from the photographs when you arrive. Do you prefer black and white or cheerful coloured backgrounds? Should we focus on the children or the whole family? Browse the galleries at www.elefantti.pl for ideas on poses and styling.
Please bring clean indoor shoes or be prepared to go barefoot or wear socks on the white paper backdrop. Your children’s shoes, unlike your own feet, will probably appear in the photographs, so bear this in mind when choosing their outfits.

Before a newborn session, I email parents detailed instructions on preparing themselves and their baby.
I favour natural photographs: I gently wrap your baby, place them on a beanbag, cover them with a blanket or add a small pillow or cuddly toy. I do not use elaborate poses or fancy costumes. Please bear in mind that the photographs will not be heavily styled; I have chosen a completely natural approach.
Please bring clean indoor shoes, as we will be walking on a white paper backdrop. We usually move around the studio barefoot or in socks. Do not worry: it is warm and cosy inside.
Studio policy: parents are asked not to take photographs with their own cameras during the session.
Please arrive at the agreed time. Arriving half an hour early may mean that I cannot take a break after the previous session, or that the studio is still closed. The time allocated for a newborn session, approximately two hours, also includes settling and caring for your baby.
After around 2-3 weeks, I will place an initially edited selection of photographs in your password-protected online gallery. Around 90% of the original shots are discarded because of closed eyes, unflattering expressions and similar issues. Your login and password will be emailed to you. The gallery will contain at least 15 photographs, usually many more to choose from. Your selected photographs will then receive further editing of skin and background imperfections.
The photographs will be sent to your chosen address as high-resolution JPG files on electronic storage and high-quality 15 x 21 cm prints in a decorative case or box.
Please pay by bank transfer after the session, using the account number in your session confirmation email.
Clients who had their maternity session at my studio receive a 100 PLN discount on their newborn session.
